Update….He did it! James MacLeod completes the London Marathon in 4h43m
The CETSAT team are no strangers to sponsoring and raising money for charity. This year sees James Macleod from the Tech Team accept a challenge to complete the Virgin London Marathon.
James, from Bridgwater in Somerset, is by no means a natural runner. However, a steady fitness regime over the last 12 months has convinced him to undertake a slight increase in distance – from his normal distance of 5k to the gruelling 26.2 miles through the capital in April.
James will be raising money for CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children, young people and their families. They provide clinical, practical, financial and emotional support to help them cope with cancer and get the most out of life. From diagnosis onwards, the aim is to help the whole family deal with the impact of cancer and its treatment, life after treatment and, in some cases, bereavement. Sponsor James here
James explains, “Without any doubt, this charity deserves more acclaim for the work they do. So many children and young people have benefited from their great work over many years. That’s why I’m undertaking such a huge task (for me) and hoping to raise much needed funds for this worthy cause”.
This isn’t the first time CETSAT staff have picked up the pace and run for charity. Both Durgan Cooper and Najeeb Sughayer have previously completed the London Marathon. James will be the 3rd CETSAT-er to complete the course (hopefully).
