Challenge

A company at the forefront of sales solution selling and proposal writing training and development realised that provision of email services and access to that email was the cornerstone of its business. The company wanted to have immediate access to a proactive, on-site IT specialist.

CETSAT were asked to provide a far more proactive solution to the company’s support requirements and also to provide far greater business continuity. The company discovered that a day of lost email could be in the order of £20,000 worth of lost business.

The Solution

CETSAT’s first recommendation was to upgrade to Windows 2003 server. This allowed for far more fail-safe disaster recovery protection. With the emergence of Distributed File System (DFS), the company could become more resilient against downtime on its company data. CETSAT then recommended that the client move to three exchange servers located in several locations to provide as close to 100% uptime as is possible.

CETSAT offered to employ a highly qualified IT Administrator to work permanently on site. This Administrator, whilst reporting to CETSAT and being continuously trained, provided the client with maximum cover. CETSAT’s backbone support infrastructure ensured that the client benefited from expertise and ongoing best practice knowledge, project management and day-to-day involvement with the business, from a technology point of view.

In order to meet the client’s requirements of high availability and support, CETSAT’s Premium Preventative Maintenance Plan was recommended and implemented.
